70 years of building things.
Starting age 5 with all things electrical and chemical
Teenager, supercharged the family car with Roots blower taken from a Vampire jet aircraft
At Uni, built a linear accelerator. It made 12 Mev electron-spurts (short bunches to generate millimetre waves - invent a laser) - using a magnetic undulator. It was 10 cm long and was powered by microwaves
Designed and built the then most powerful laser.
Scanned laser beams and built parametric amplifiers using ultrasound.
Invented Chemical oscillators
