A heart shaped box you can cut out and fill with something nice for your sweetie... Just in time for Valentine's Day

This is a parametric version of FdS' flex-box.
You can edit the file using your favorite text editor (notepad, vi, emacs, pico) to change the height, width, and length of the box. Then send the file to your laser cutter and you will have yourself an awesome little box.

Simple Hexagonal Box.

Actual use: Project housing for a USB powered RT-PCR platform. Opposing surfaces provide mounts for LED, band pass filter, sample holder, thermal probe and thermofoil heaters.

Parametric hinged and bolted attachment for square bars

This OpenSCAD script will generate a 2 part holder to attach a Tyndall WIMUv3 to the upright square cross-sectional posts on the moveable sled part of the assassin trainer at Bath University. The size of the bar it is attached to can be parametrically varied

I created these boxes to store the pieces and cards for Vlaada Chvátil's excellent board game called Space Alert.

The boxes are sized for this particular game but I included the parametric openscad files as well so that you can easily mod them for any other purpose.

This is my first 3d model in openscad and it is 6cm cubed!Thanks to Triffid_Hunter for helping me with Openscad!

My first thing!

This is a heart-shaped box similar to the one Kurt Kobain spoke of in his lovely song, "Heart Shaped Box." I uploaded two versions of the box - one is smooth on the outside, the other is not. The lid should, in theory, snap in place. This can be used to show your significant other (female) that it was totally worth spending $700 on some metal and plastic scraps.

PS: The Quantum Concepts logo on the bottom is sort of a cross between a spoof and a goof. It can be removed if you prefer.

I created this box to store my commander decks and prominantly display my commander. This is a work in progress but it is fully usable at this stage.

I play a collectible card game (CCG) called "Vampire: the Eternal Struggle". The V:tES decks have more cards in them than the standard Magic decks. 102 cards in sleeves don't fit in most available deck boxes. So I learned Google Sketchup and made my own.
It's not fancy, but it's solid and fits really well.

I also put the V:tES logo on the front of the box for added customization and opponent jealousy.

A 2-part, hinged, bolt-on holder/fixture for affixing a small packaged sensing device (in this case a custom WIMU) to a round shaft or bar allowing it to be easily attached to golf clubs, tennis racquets, pipes, cylindrical bar stock, walking sticks etc.

Box for the Pololu USB AVR Programmer.

My first thing.

A dovetailed modular ER-25 collet holder. Ultimately, I want to add a lid to make it a box as well as just use it for organizing the collets on my workbench.

I wanted to print the box in the derivative tag but I couldn't fit the ER25 sized version on the bed of the Makerbot. So, I modularized it...

I do a lot of shopping at IKEA, whether it’s for disposable apartment furniture or cheap mechanical parts to use for DIY projects. Whenever I leave the store I always end up with a pocket full of those little golf pencils they have all over the store. I’m not a collector, it just happens.

Well I’ve decided they deserve a better life. One where they are used and not ignored because of their size in the bottom of a drawer. Time to liberate my miniature writing implements.

I've created a golf pencil dispenser inspired by the straw dispensers you see in restaurants. It also has a lid to keep it tidy and holes for screws on the back so it can be wall mounted.

The Raspberry Pi is a creditcard sized computer which you can buy for $25 or $35 (depending which version)

Never designed a case before, so perhaps things can be better...

- used the Beta board dimensions
perhaps sdslot and USB height will differ in production models
- split case on connector height because every connector sticks out
- used a little indent on the outside, so you could stack them
- used 2 screws for attaching the bottom and top
- top has a raster so you still can get wires in/out to the GPIO connectors
- top has a small square for a logo sticker

For holding your Sanguinololu.

I recently built the Ninja CNC kit from CNCSNAP.com. They recommend you use a fan to cool the board but they don't include a fan or an enclosure. So it bought a "thunderblade" 80mm blue led fan from radio shack and designed this enclosure for the board. I didn't feel like designing fastener attachments for the top-base connections so I just heat welded them together.
Feel free to modify the design to use a different fan if you like.

Another riff on the living hinge, using it for the sides of a curved box rather than an actual hinge.

A heart shaped box. The hinges will require some cleanup and carefully drill out the holes for the pin or shave the pin down a little. The latch is weak and may break off. Feel free to make improvements.

this is a box for the sparkfun serial enabled lcd kit,

mine was a snug fit but your mileage may vary.

Two Boxes... one slightly tapered, the other the same but slightly twisted.

Storage system for storing various things. Developed from the simpler parametric compartment box by adding two new cool features: (optional) rounding of all compartment corners to prevent the pesky nuts and bolts from hiding in the corners to avoid being used, and handles plus some new OpenSCAD modules for creating a cabinet of drawers.

This OpenSCAD script will generate a single part rack for mounting multiple double-stacked 25x25mm Radio->USB "base station" PCB units. This allows the units to be easily slid into the enclosure where they will be held securely by friction and locked in place by micro-USB plugs which attach at the side. These racks will be acetone-welded into commercial ABS enclosures for a professional looking, low-cost and secure medium scale technology build.

This would be of use to someone who wants a modular system for securing multiple stacked PCBs within a larger enclosure in such a way that they can be readily removed.

This drawers are completely parametric, the stl provided are just an example.
All the structure can be mounted without glue. A special clip is provided to lock the structure, and is quite simple to unlock if needed.

Use this little box to keep your favourite minifig in your pocket (if you are 5, or 35yrs old it doesn't matter!) The lid snaps tight and add a piece of string between the loops. I added these loops so I wouldn't be constantly searching for lost lids:)

I added pegs to keep the minifig in place for display purposes.

Thinking of adding sword and weapon holders inside later.

Here is a simple electronics box for the Sanguinololu board (were all the connections actually fit inside the box). When I built my Huxley I had a perfect box for the electronics. This is a replication of that box. I am only using the lid myself after deciding that 10mm holes for ventilation would be enough to keep the stepper drivers cool. On the original lid I had a fan mounted.
I had to split the box in half because my Huxley can only print 130X130mm.
The box is 144x82mm and 29mm deep (outside measured). Walls about 2mm.
The extra slit on the lid is for the SD-Card reader. That's the position I have my reader in. But you can of course move it around in SketchUp.

A box that can link to others of its kind. Perhaps good for sorting out a lot of screws or such.
