It's a big seven segment display :) I used three 5mm LEDs per segment with the intent that they could be wired in series and driven straight from a micro-controller output pin. Connecting my orange LED's wired up that way to a 5V supply gave a reading of 13 mA. A micro-controller should have no trouble driving the three leds without any transistors or resistors or anything. Depending on the voltage drop of your LED's you may need a small current limiting resistor.

I'd like to do a clock with this sometime soon. So I'll have to add an additional front plate with a clock type display instead of a decimal point.

Eventually I'll try for an 8 inch display using interlocking segments. Once the prusa is running I could do an 8 inch display all in one print. Of course the ultimate goal is a 12 inch display like evil mad scientist labs has for $50 each. Then world domination. (cue maniacal laughter)

I made this with Micronauts in mind, but it could be used for Joes or Star Wars figures as well as a whole host of other 1/18th scale figures.

you can cut this from one 12"x24" sheet of wood or acrylic, and the pieces clip together when it's in use, and then fold back flat for storage.

You can hang earrings from the holes, and rings and necklaces from the branches.

This is a set of shelves to display Good Smile Company Nendoroids (or other figures/items that fit on a 7cm deep shelf)
Step height is also 7cm to preserve aesthetics.
It's 34cm wide, so easily fits into an Ikea Detolf glass display case.

This is designed to be created in 5mm thick material - I used clear, green edged acrylic for mine, to match the green edged glass of the Detolf. I'd be interested to see what it looks like in laser ply though! :)

This can be cut from 1 A2 sheet of Acrylic, or 2 A3 sheets (4 crossmembers on 1 sheet, the side panels and the last crossmember on the other)

This is a design for making modualer plexiglass (acrylic) display cabinets. Each piece is 2"x2"x1/2". The Idea is to simply print out eight of these bad boys and insert 1/4" Acrylic into the slots to form a cube... then to add more selfs print out more pieces as needed... I don't have a working printer right now so if some one feels like printin some out and trying it just let me know! thanks for looking!

This is a model stand that I built to display the Tie Interceptor model (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5549) that I printed out. It uses the Global Dynamics Logo by Modelmaker and does some modification: resizing, rotation and copying to create an open pyramid where one can display a model.

The current version of the file only has a 3mm hole in the top so you can use any piece of filament that you want to adjust the height to.

I created one of these stands some time ago in balsa. While it was good and did the job, I figured that with a laser cutter sitting here, I should update it!

I've been making some specialty laser cut vanity plates and needed an easy way to show them off, so I sat down and threw this stand together in about 15 minutes. Simple but functional.

A single-digit split-flap display, like the displays in old train stations. Rig it up to a stepper motor and you'll have yourself a low-power retro-cool display. This Thing doesn't include any controlling electronics. Big ups to Metrix Create:Space, where this was designed and made.

In honour of Thingiverse Thursday here's a design that has been sitting on our hard drive for a little while.

Its a simple little box that makes wiring up an 8 x 8 LED Matrix easy. It uses the MAX7219 (or 7221) LED driver chip from Maxim and uses the Matrix library in the Arduino library.

This is a layout for making a 170mm high single digit LED display. I use these to create the digits for my wall clocks. 10 standard 5mm (T1 3/4) LEDs are used for each segments (a total of 80 LEDs per digit).

I've also included a design for a small single-sided board that you can use to easily wire up your individual segments.

For reasons unknown to me, the tines don't render properly in QCAD (or the preview here), but they show up fine in Corel. Probably a mysterious DXF formatting issue.
