This app allows users to be able to turn images into printable 3D Objects. It generates a height map as a relief of the image, coded in OpenSCAD file which can then be furthered customized using the Thingiverse Customizer. Advanced and experienced users can custom tailor the output by using the OpenSCAD app and modifying the code by further manipulating the image data.

We hope to make it available on the Apple Appstore shortly - for free.

We want to thank Makerbot for the opportunity to participate in this first Makerbot Thingiverse Hackathon.

The application reads your Nike+ exercise data and generates a Customizable Thing containing your data. You can then Customize your Thing to add your name and scale the model to the size you'd like to print. At the moment, we visualize one week of your data.

The generated Thing has STLs for printing in a single color (use the STL named 'both') and dualstrusion (merge the 'left' and 'right' STLs).

Developers are Robert Carlsen (http://www.thingiverse.com/technophobe), Sune Kaae and Laird Popkin (http://www.thingiverse.com/laird).
UPDATE: Source code is released on GitHub here: github.com/sunekaae/activity-visualizer.

This is my second life-size sculpture print. The whole thing is 38.4cm tall assembled.

It'll be a few weeks before I can do final cleaning and painting, but I didn't want to wait any longer to share the project.

Two sets of files are available: One for stock Cupcakes (26 parts, untested), and one for tall Cupcakes like mine (16 parts). (Zydac's Z-axis upgrade at thingiverse.com/thing:4716 is very easy and highly recommended.)

We felt so bad for the "Standing Female Deity, possibly Durga" without her arms- now she is definitely Durga!
Keith captured the head with 123D catch and
I modeled the body and arms in Blender from turnaround photos I took in the gallery. We printed the body on our Thing-O-Matic at home after the first day and printed the head and arms on a Replicator at the event on day 2. It was a whirlwind and I wish the parts fit together a little better, but as my second MakerBot project ever- I think we did a good job. We wanted to share what we accomplished at this awesome event and will continue to refine this! This design is inspired by the old fashioned "Jumping Jack" toy.
