I printed her in White PLA from ProtoParadigm. At arms length she looks like she was cast in plaster.
In stead of removing the current wall mount, drilling holes in a higher tile and mounting it there, I decided to printed an adapter.
The adapter raises the shower head by about 5 centimeters and rotates the angle of the shower head 15 degrees backwards so the water sprays higher and further.

So, I did this little experiment. This is one of my TCad spheres, 12mm wide with a slightly Brainiac looking face added to it, with no mouth. The results look as though the hair may be blowing in the wind. It seems this would work much better on a larger scale head. This experiment, for me, is a success. ( because I'm a huge fan of the show Oddities dsc.discovery.com/tv/oddities ) I went looking for something I could do a 3D scan of and print on my MakerBot. This was the creepiest, cheapest thing I could find that I thought would scan well. It also made me laugh when I pulled the string and found the mouth still moved.

It appears to be a 1930's Walt Disney Dopey Dwarf from Snow White, see: royaleaffairdolls.com/Repairs.html

I scanned it with Spinscan thingiverse.com/thing:9972 Which now supports color textured scans. The dimensions are still a little off causing scans to be squashed slightly... Math is hard. Let's go shopping!
Using this script, you can make spikes with attachments to snap on other things. As an example of what you can do, I created a bobblehead spike on top and a dragon hood ornament on the front. (note: I fully expect the dragon head to fly apart as soon as I start driving it around and running into things... but... look at it! Also: I know red shouldn't have wings, but it also shouldn't have a dragon or my head bobbing on top) This should ensure that if you find yourself around other turtle shell racers, you'll know which one is yours.

This OpenSCAD script creates two parts - a stand with a customizable name text in 8bit font thingiverse.com/thing:2054 and slices up a head scan and adds a pin connector slot thingiverse.com/thing:10288 This way you can make the head super big to get more detail to show as well as avoid the overhang under the bust from causing problems.

As an added bonus, my bust is now modular so you can use pin connectors to attach it to other things. You know you want to.
Stephen Colbert's head has gotten very big ;-)...so big that I hollowed it out and you can wear it. That's right, this is your very own wearable Stephen Colbert head so you to can be Stephen Colbert. No I'm not going Silence of the Lambs on y'all, it's printed in nylon. Its a tight fit in my large frame laser sintering machine...the material alone would cost thousands of dollars, but I want to build one so bad in one piece! Ah ha, maybe I can finance the building of it by gathering donations on Kickstarter? I have set up a build with 700 1/12 scale versions that will fit around the full scale head and be the reward for donating!
