This design also inclues an etched QR code directing people to the downloadable files.

The 6 Packer is constructed of 3/16" thick laser cut ply wood and assembled with 4-40 1/2" screws and nuts. The bottle holes will accept anything from the run of the mill long neck bottles to IBCs to short chubby craft beer bottles.

The 6 Packer was designed with openscad and is completely parametric. You can change material thickness, bottle diameter, fastener size, hand grip size re-render and cut out using your favorite laser cutter!
What's that? You don't have a laser cutter? You can purchase a 6 packer directly from me over at Etsy. timogiles.etsy.com Enjoy!

I use two of them mounted on adjacent sides of my 3D printer, to ensure that the build platform is level. I first take the platform to the home position (the one it assumes while it waits for the extruder to heat up). Then I move both lasers so that they meet exactly at the platform's corner, and it's only one bright dot, not two. Then I move the platform around. If it's level, I see only a single dot all the time.
The concept was to have a sensor that wasn't inline with the coolant line and couldn't restrict the flow if it seized up. I'm sure that the design is scaleable within reason for other projects. It is simply tywrapped to the outlet end of the coolant pipe and dunked in the coolant reservoir/bucket.
The sensor is a simple hall effect switch.

BTW, if anyone knows how to embed a YouTube link to movie, let me know - the movie is at the bottom :-)

Build platforms are sensitive to changes in temperature and can affect your prints. After testing a few iterations here is a design that is ready to share; I call it the Bot Window. I know what your thinking, what a creative and catchy name. :) Ok, truth be told its a simple but effective design that consists of acrylic panels to cover three sides of the bot (left, right and rear (and gets bolted on using left over MBI parts).

This summer the space I was in had a non-controllable AC where temps were around 55F, yes you read that right, (95F outside at the time). After blocking off air vents to decrease windflow in the room and covering three sizes of the MB (left, rear and right) with cardboard the temps went up to the 65F range. Using a make-shift hood on top (think barn roof) this got me to the 69F+ range and more importantly back to good prints without lifting of edges from rapid cooling.

With drafts from outside and windows in the new space the window panels have taken the chill off the platform (reduced draft) and keeping me in the mid 80's consistently. This design is based off of the MBI TOM MP887 Rev-I design file and will rest on top of the cover plates of the rods running from front to back.

If you have access to a laser cutter or know someone that has one, this will be quick work.

Panels were cut courtesy of my friend Angus Hines (http://www.angushines.com), thanks Angus!
The spindle control is for passing through power to a router, so it has a power switch and an easily press-able emergency stop. The two other boxes go back to the PC and are used to stop motion on the X, Y & Z axes.

The electronic parts are all available from Altronics in Australia, but I'm sure other vendors have compatible stuff. Check their datasheets to see if the mountings are the same or just delete and add a new one.
S3228 - Rocker switch , Neon. (27.5mm by 13.6mm square mounting)
S0820 - E-stop buttons, (16mm dia hole.)
P8241 - GPO outlet, flush mountable. (most of a 33.5 mm dia circular hole and 4.5mm dia offset hole)

The box designs came from here. Check it out, well worth the $12.
