This is a box headed guy that talks when you pick him up. You can record a new message for the boxman to say and leave him around for your friends to pick up. A Tangram style puzzle set. Assemble the pieces in such a way that they fit inside the puzzle's boundry. The top set is harder than the bottom set.

This is a traditional Tangram Set. There are two versions. One is a traditonal square presentation. The other is a compact design intended for multiple sets.

This is an update of the Old School Space Rocket, based on comments from Bre after he cut and build the first physical copy.

Change log:
1. Made the spines that run the length of the hull twice as thick, for structural support and for aesthetics.
2. Re-made the ribs that define the cross-section of the hull from scratch with circular voids and fine-tuned dimensions for aesthetics and better fit.
3. Hollowed out the legs for aesthetics.
4. Re-made the feet using the same spine & rib method as the hull, for consistency, for the challenge, for aesthetics, and for the win!
5. Re-arranged the pieces on the cutting pattern so that you could cut from two rectangles instead of a single square.

This is a 4-pin tumbler lock with a key and display case. Insert the key and turn clockwise to get a smiley face!

My first experiment with a Laser cutter

A birdhouse that I designed over the course of a couple of hours. The entrance has a circular diameter of 1.5". I have no idea if this is actually practical for birds. I just wanted to relive my high school shop class experience.

This version is for 1/8" thick acrylic, rather than 1/4", and half the height. A single 12"x12" stock will get you two complete nave sections, i.e. eight times the Gothy goodness of the original.

Isn't multiplication fun?

Two tree ornaments can be made from this design: one big, one small. Different layouts could be used to make unique shapes. Different colored acrylic can be used to make the candy cane look.

Nathan Ellis designed this car on paper. We then converted it to a vector file and cut it out on the laxxxxxor!

12 5-sided polygons that fit together to form a dodecahedron. This is probably the smallest buckyball that you could realistically make. There a solid version, and a "wired version", which is way way easier to put together. This is to mess with you geometry-lovers out there.

It works, but unfinished. Need to connect mini-centers together to get some multi-action going.

In the end, it's going to be pretty badass.

This is a 3D model of a section of the nave of a Gothic church.

I based the height to width ratio on the golden section,and the design of the arches on the basic Gothic proportions, so nothing very new. I hope to add the side alleys and some flying buttresses in a later version.

The only clever trick is the use of little cross-shaped pieces to hold the two parts of the pillars together, one at the base, and one at the top, resting on a little shelf. Since the pillar parts that slot into each other are rather long, you need this trick to keep them from sliding side to side.

It's based on two of my photos, one is a view of the Empire State Building from NJ, and the other just some random NYC taxi.

Its meant to be a letter holder. There is a small "shelf" between the city and the taxi, for you to stack your mail.

A mobile based off the classic "Impossible Cube" optical illusion made famous by M.C. Escher, among others. As a bonus, I've included a Community Commons stencil typeface, also named Impossible Cube, which you can adapt for your own uses.

This was cut out of a 12" x 12" piece of 1/8th inch acrylic.
