Users are asked to peddle the exercise bikes in order to turn a dynamo which would in turn power the computers. If users fail to peddle hard enough the computer monitors will begin to flicker encouraging them to peddle harder.

The thing would ideally be placed in public areas where all forms of society could view it and try it out for them selves, thus educating as many people as possible.

This is a parametric design for a centrifugal fan. I wanted one that could take a knock or two to blow air into my forge with, so I designed one with parametric wall thickness, fan clearance, diameter, height, output nozzle and inlet hole diameter etc. It can be printed entirely without support material and the two halves are held together with 3xNo.8 screws.

The sample fan is 70mm in diameter and 45mm high. It uses a small 12V motor I salvaged, but can easily be modified (physically or programmatically) to suit a range of motors.

The forge now has an RP'd 110mm diameter blower, and that blows plenty of air into the tuyere. The motor I chose does not have a very high RPM. It can only just reach white heat with one fan, but does not melt even in PLA due to the high airflow. A much faster motor on a smaller printed blower produces a higher flow, so I'm sure I can get more out of it later.

If you want one with a handle on, see thingiverse.com/thing:8096

Needs nothing other than some filament, 3 printed bits, 2 rubber bands and a foam dart.

It seems to generate more power than yer average foam dart gun, because I'm not bound by children's toys regulations. So, test it before using it in combat games.

It's parametric so you can change the grip size, dart dimensions and all sorts of stuff. No sights yet, and it could do with some clip on fancy grips, so hack away :)

Dual Mendel X Carriage a la Prusa

This is my second modified Prusa Mendel X Carriage that will fit the standard Mendel X axis. It uses PLA bushings instead of the standard bearings. These now clip in place and have pins on top that locate into generous spaces in the carriage. This allows the user to optionally bond the bushings in place by dropping glue, blu-tak, gum, earwax etc. into each hole.

This is designed not to fix to a Prusa Mendel, but to clamp to the Mendel drive belt using the 2 clamps provided in the design.

Two pinch extruders thingiverse.com/thing:8830 or one Wade extruder can be fitted to the carriage.
I will eventually edit 2 opposing tentacles to be closed loops for holding a chopstick, but for now the original octopus STL works just fine.

I made this as a gift for someone so I went the extra mile and made some brass leafs colored green and Copper wire stems so oxidize them in a brown green tone. I went to TIG the copper to the stainless stalk but It was too small so I just brazed it. I ended up Threading the stem to use a 4/40 nylon acorn nut below the flower and a 4/40 acorn nut at the top to look real.
