M about 1:20
And yes: there is sand at the teeth of the bucket out of my kids sandbox ;-)

I hope the pictures are descibing the project best. On pic SAM_4173 the lower part of the body is shown with holes for batteries. It was redesigned that a big pb battery fits now. The two servos in the arm have about 120 Ncm, the big one in the body about 260 Ncm.
In the tracks and for turnig there are the the cheapest servos ever in there for about 2,5€.
The servos in the tracks are hacked so that the pwm signal still works but they do it continously. Just search the web for "pwm servo hack"!
In the turnshaft i soldered the + and - of the servos togeter to reduce lines from 6 to 4.
The tooth gears are bought:
Maybe you can also print them, I can't.
Following Wilsons original design they just clip on and can be (fairly) easily removed to add or alter wiring.

The trouble with 3D printing a ball bearing is that spheres don't adhere to the 45 degree rule, so they tend to print poorly, or if metal balls are used instead, then the bearing requires assembly. This is a new kind of bearing that can only be manufactured by 3D printing and comes preassembled.

It is a planetary gearset and functions like a cross between a needle bearing and a thrust bearing. No cage is required to keep the rollers in place, because their gearing keeps them perfectly spaced. The gears are all herringbone, which is why it cannot be disassembled and also why it can act as a thrust bearing. If you're wondering how well a 3D printed bearing could work under load, please check out my video: youtu.be/ZghwSBiM0sU

This design is fully parametric and made to be adjusted in the Customizer app to whatever you need. Thanks to aubenc for finding a problem in the first version.

Looks like a saw blade to me.

All printed in Taulman 618 nylon and dyed different colors. I printed all the larger vessels on a 1/4" piece of poplar wood as the build surface heated to 60 degrees. Perfect adhesion and easy release. Wood is good!

The little one was printed on our Sailfish-running Thing-o-Matic in the new 1.75mm Taulman 618. I have a spring-loaded idler on an MK7 and had no problems at all with accelerated printing at 60mm/sec. Printed on masking tape and it stuck fine, though I do recommend wood for larger prints. As usual, Sailfish just rocks and the print is absolutely beautiful, hence all the close ups.
V2: Fixed some angles which might have prevented slicing and printing with certain layer sizes. Re-edited the topology on the top and bottom sides.
Also added a version with thick walls, if anyone wants to print it that way, should work in skeinforge too.

Added a 3 mm wall version.
Trying to sort out the mess of cables on my desk. The name is a reflection on the shape of the hub, which is the result of trying to maximize the bending radius of the cable.

Of course the OpenSCAD sources are fully parametric but comments are lacking...

Update: Updated scad file before first print to reduce overhangs on the lid.

Update2: Made two of these spools now, and not entirely satisfied... This design is too weak to work well with less flexible cables. Also, unwinding is a pain because the cable tends to unwind inside the spool making it jam. Next, I will try a detachable lid that snaps over the cable.
