The issue came when time to charge; she didn't want to just lay her Note on the desktop at work or home as she wanted to keep using it while charging. We looked at docks but they all were for the naked Note and I didn't like the idea of her needing to pull the device in/out of the case over and over each day. What to do, what to do, well you design and print your own! Over the course of a few days I designed this 3D printable case that allows the Note to charge/sync with the factory adapter, hold the stylus in a readily accessible location and hold the Note while still in a nice leather folding case!
This is my attempt to build a low cost 4 servo Arduino Uno controlled bipedal robot that is framed with inexpensive 3D printed “I Braces”; that can hold a standard servo and interconnect with additional braces to form various modular structures.

My goal in this project was to:

A. Show my 3yr old daughter that you can make anything you put your mind to!
B. Not break the bank (wife mandated)
C. Only run on 4 servos (to start with)
D. Stand >= 10” tall
E. Leave room for upgrades/reworks without scrapping parts
F. Give live commands to the biped
G. Communicate wirelessly (I have lots of extra Android phones laying around)

Watch it in action @:

I have encountered multiple SVM's recently and worked out a mutual agreement with the group allowing them full desk surface egress at work and home in return they will not induce hard stop errors or memory buffer overflows on my work and home PC/MAC's. I pretty much had to take the deal...
Do you have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9" or 10.1" tablet?? If so here is a full featured docking solution!

At work we bought a fleet of 8.9 LTE Tab's and I immediately began creation of a dock that would work with a naked unit or with a TPU case on it.

Each dock has an adapter locking center channel and cable tunnel for the 30 pin power/data cable. I included 2 40mm unique dowels so you can easily slide the unit apart for addition and removal of the cable. The unit holds your Tab at a 20 degree angle perfect for desk usage or next to the bed. I widened the stance with the rear wedges so you can rest assured there will be no tipping even if your a hardcore screen basher. There are also dual front and rear speaker ports so you can mega jam even when docked with the 8.9!

I have uploaded 2 different solutions that work on each tablet variant (not physically tested on the 10.1 but the qualifying dimensions are the same):

1.) A standard sized dock that minimizes plastic used and print duration. This dock allows you to grip the side of the Tab in the dock and easily use a thumb keyboard without pulling it from the dock!

2.) A jumbo dock that goes almost to the edge of the 8.9 and looks like a dock that you might buy at a retailer (or at least I like to think so...).

All docks pictured with logos were on my beta units only and all uploaded docks are free of any branding.

**I have also attached my Sketchup master for your modding pleasures.**
- Does your Mom have a desk?

If you answered "Yes" to the above questions you may want to print this.

This is another Faja/Daja project. My 3yr old daughter saw a picture of Mom's new cubicle system at work and said "it looks real sad" so we talked about making something special to sit on her desk that she could also use. 30min in Sketchup, 4.5hrs print time and we are ready to deliver some ABS joy to Mom's desk! I told my daughter that I would be able to give this to my Mom (Grandma) as well and she doubled in excitement making sure I would tell Grandma that she helped make it too!

** bmsweb alerted me that his Mom is a Mum, and Mum's count too! **

Love Ya Mom!

I actually used my phone to snap a pic of the cavity, edited the photo removing all but the lip, imported lip image to SketchUp, ran a tight ruby script that converts images to vector shapes, built a deck, scaled it, exported to an stl, sliced it in RepG and then printed on my printer.

Uber tight ruby script for SketchUp: forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=33445 that takes your imported raster png and converts it to actual shape data! If you use SU you gotta try it out! I attached the tool suite to this thing "SKMtools20110225.zip" just dump it into your plugins folder in SU and follow the directions from the above URL!

Oh, and for those making solids in SketchUp you really need the ruby script called "Solid Inspector". It makes chasing manifold issues 200 times easier in SU! Pick it up here: forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=30504
So,,, I increased the shaft's length at the bottom to clear the MK6 extruder stepper and fan with the lowest mounted Sharpie (leaves the most room for vertical movement) and added a latching brace that utilizes the MK6 top right M3 bolt so that reversal torque movement is eliminated.

I took the original stl that Bryan Duxbury uploaded and imported it into SketchUp (also attached below) and made my mods. Let me know if you have any issues with printing or functionality. As you can probably guess this was only tested on a factory MK6 setup and I have no idea if previous extruder builds will work.
After running a few 2 pound spools through them on kitchen turn tables (lazy Susans, sorry to any Susan's reading this) it started to become a large pain de-stacking my bot and top spindle box just to get to the bottom box for a change out. So I just wanted to jot down a few notes as I rigged my setup for quicker filament change outs as well as adapting the boxes for different filament vendor spools and sizes.

We still use multitudes of Motorola walkie-talkies called TalkAbout's that use a unique belt clip that is hard to track down, priced far too high and unfortunately break way too easily. I sat down yesterday and designed my own clip using broken remains and my trusty cheap caliper. I was excited when after my 4th proto print I had a functioning 3 piece kit that seems to be working wonderfully! I wanted to try sharing it just incase someone else has an investment in these units and needs additional clips. This kit includes the belt loop clip, plastic spring and sliding jacket that all snap together after printing and will keep your walkie close for dispatching your ever-so important RF communications (or just make it look like you have "people").
This was printed from a TOM Mk6 plastruder running 1.75mm nuclear green filament equipped with an ABP
