Designed for high resolution 3D printing - Size was carefuly calculated to enable correct wall thickness, so if you scale it down you might loose walls or details.
At the bottom there is a cut hole to insert a LED to make it a cool table lamp.
Designs intended for educational purposes only.
** This method could also be used to turn a solid CAD design into its bare bone structure for QUICK 3d printing and prototyping.
I've added a second file that is the "naked" version of a solid Eiffel tower - yet its as strong as the solid original but with significantly less material used and way faster to 3D print!
Complex, organic, 3D (volume) Voronoi structure grown inside a Yoda bust.

Great as a booksend or as a unique, conversation starter, pencils holder on your desk.

Size: 110x87x87mm
Thickness: varies 1~5mm (organic)
Volume: 81 cm^3

NPR reporter on Yoda bust:
"One of the more popular things on the site is a bust of Yoda, and some designers on Thingiverse are doing amazing things with it. Someone turned it into a vase for flowers, another used math (fractals) to hollow it out in an incredibly beautiful, illegal way.. "

** I respect copyright laws and will remove this version of Yoda the second Lucas Films asks for a take down.
I've uploaded this design with the impression that it was OK for some time now by the copyright owner for the original Yoda bust.

A great project for the whole family.

This structure has 10mm wide hallways (enough room for incoming and outgoing traffic..) - The top center area has the entrance, the bottom-center area has a large chamber for the queen and her entourage..

Cut 2 square transparent Acrylics, 2 to 3mm thick at your favorite Laser Cutting service like Ponoko.com or use a simple Inkjet transparent sheets then glue them to their place (front and back).

Checkout YouTube for some simple tutorials on how to scoop Ants and their queen from the ground.. how to supply the colony water, moist dirt , food etc..

3D print it with ABS/PLA or with Laywood filament (can hold moister better?)

Use 0.2-0.3mm rigid layer height so the Ants legs can grab the walls easily..

Inspired by BSchuler's thingiverse.com/BSchuler set of Multi-Cultural Ornaments i decided to design a second Christmas Math Ornament. ( thingiverse.com/thing:35758 )

Look closely.. this sphere is made of a Star-Of-David grid.

I raised few of the stars as a relief across the sphere to make it even more cool.

Gif:
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j322/dizingof/Album3/Star-of-David-multi-cultural-math-ornament-by-Dizingof-anigif.gif

Size: 60x60x70mm
Wall thickness: 2mm

3D Print it with 0.1mm resolution so you can see the tiny triangles that form the Stars of David.

If you cant go Hi-Res on your 3D printer, simply increase the ornament size to 100mm in total.

Enjoy!
It's a great looking material that i thought i should dedicate a Decor design for it.

Now with the new improvements to the slicing software to create different shades, i foresee a great use for this material.
betterprinter.blogspot.fr/2012/10/shades-of-brown-with-wood-filament-via.html

A half DupinCycloid thingiverse.com/thing:30187 attached to my elliptical iDock from 2010 thingiverse.com/thing:12445

The horn will increase the sound of the iPhone speaker immensely.

Take your USB cable (USB side first) put it trough the top opening, all the way till the connector side sits at its bay. (later super glue it)

For obvious gravity reasons.. you might want to glue a small metal piece inside the dock for balancing.
