Sized for my handbars, which are an 1.125 inches in diameter.
Takes 7 M4 screws to close the case and clamp it to the handlebars.

Tested. new version fits the transponder. Calling it done.

Doesn't fit the sainsmart LCD arduino shield. The contrast pot sticks up way too much. Printed fine but its useless to me.

QUBD Dual Quickfit mount plate

So i backed the kickstarter for QUBD's dual extruder, and it arrives to much excitement only to find out that it is too short to mount on my Quick fit X carriage! So after hearing nothing from their tech support people about mounting it on a Prusa Mendel, I get to work designing my own mount. I designed a bowden connection to mount both hotends on a single alumium block, limiting the amount of build volume lost by the two heads, and combined that with a quick-fit plate for richrap's quickfit extruder.

I use the poor man's 1.75mm bowden fittings of an M4 nut on 4mm teflon tubing, so that is what this is designed for. When testing is complete I'll publish updated stl and design files.

BigFoot: The Openbeam Openrail Cartesian Printer

Bigfoot is the printer I want to make. Since no existing designs included the 3 facets I want in a printer, I am designing bigfoot as well. Those 3 characteristics are: Openbeam frame, Openrail linear motion, and at least 300x300 build platform. Bigfoot's Z axis is not limited by frame geometry. it is theoretically possible to stuck uncut 1meter openbeams on with full-length openrails and print almost 1 meter up. The height of the X axis would be subtracted from that meter, so a meter-tall object would not be able to be printed.
I'm using richrap's quick Fit X carriage, because I've had great success with it on my current printer, and even designed a QUBD dual extruder mount for it. That's the extruder I'm planning to use in this printer.

My previous iphone5 case was 8mm, which is rather bulky, but fit in my hands nicely. the case i liked for my iphone4 was about 4.5mm, which was nice and solid, but interfered with the flash. This case does not. It also has more clearance for the front camera and ambient light sensor.

Modeled using the official dimensions published by apple. I liked the design of this thing: thingiverse.com/thing:5473, but it had really annoying features, which were difficult to print, so I built this from scratch. And this case has simple features, making it easy to print on a reprap. I'm printing right now. I'll post pics when it's done. And after my iphone5 shows up, I'll verify the fit and post updated files if it needs changing.

I did make use of the iphone5 mockup while modeling, just to have something to look at and compare.
