So I designed this one really quick as a replacement. <br />
<br />
This s customizable with a name/logo on it and for custom dimensions in case the kendo practice sword you have has slightly different dimensions. These fit on the Amazon ones linked above and a really old set of shorter ones we already had.

The seem to get lost after every launch. Fortunately the design is simple and I was able to print these out as a replacement. The don't come out perfect without support but they more than serve their purpose. <br />
<br />
These fit the Estes Model 000804 - Firehawk™ rocket.

She wasn't the first one this one had alredy been glued together once by the previous owner. I got out my calipers measured it up and made a "good enough" model. It doesn't have a thread cutter in it but it does fit and does work properly. The sewing places want ~$20 US for this part when a few cents worth of plastic and a few mintutes will do the trick. <br />

Rev 1 - Uses a pin to hold the halves together and to increase bonding while gluing with acetone.<br />

Thanks to all of the cool OpenSCAD libraries I found here on Thingiverse. And please forgive the "reactive red" ABS - it was what was loaded into the printer when I decided to print. I plan on printing another one in black to match the interior a little better :D

For a counter weight is uses 2 dead AA batteries (or what ever else you want to mount on it).<br />
<br />
The servo arms are positioned to hold a Turnigy TG9e 9g servo. As of right now I don't have one of these to test pen up/down functionality but it should work with an appropriately positioned servo arm. For now I've added a couple washers to my servo arms where the weight contributed by the servo should be.<br />
<br />
I'll be posting up another one capable of holding a Sharpie Magnum (the really big sharpie).<br />

I tried designing some different cantilevered pen holders with little success but did learn some stuff along the way. First the basic pen holder works good with about 3 oz of weight hanging off it it for a sharpie. Second, as well as the ball bearings work- i'd rather use them for something else.<br />
<br />
I threw this together with the intention of filling it with sand - but like half the the stuff on the internet the weight per cc was off but 2x on the site I found it on. Fortunately for me the design I came up with is also the perfect size for a stack of nickels.

I plan on using this for a rocker-bogie style printable suspension. <br />
<br />
I was pleasantly surprised that after printing with some pretty close tolerances and some very light sanding to the center piece that the joint operated very smoothly.<br />
<br />
I tried to make the scad as parametric as I needed it to be but it works fairly well. I've tried printing it in one size and assembling it and am very happy with the results.<br />
<br />
The total cost of this joint is around $0.40 for screws/hardware plus ~2.5 meters of plastic. Far cheaper and lighter than a metal Heim joint.<br />

I did it in OpenScad using the great "poor mans screw library". Took about 10 minutes to throw together and 30 minutes to print on my MakerBot (w/ Acceleration).<br />
<br />
By request - I uploaded the .scad after adding a few comments to it. You will also need to download the screw library that this is a derivative of. Note that the threads in this library are not tapered so technically it's not NPT. At some point I might modify it again to add tapered threads but for now it works fine with teflon tape.
