I'm a big fan of Ganesha, so mesh collapsed him in meshlab. I like the output.

Update: Accidentally uploaded the x3g file instead of the stl, now both are there! The x3g is for a Replicator 2.

A line thing made with 123D Creature

I made this with 123D Creature

I wanted to print this but there were holes in the mesh everywhere and the wheels weren't attached. I had to take off the wing and the door handles. The wheels are nothing special, but I broke them out. Really someone needs to make some awesome wheels for this, or you can scale it to Matchbox/Hotwheel size and attach them.

This Thing is a MakerBot 3D Portrait of bre P scanned at the MakerBot Retail Store in SoHo on Jan 28, 2013. These scans are at 1/4th the original size.

This is one of my favorites at the Brooklyn Museum. It's a small piece, about 4" tall. I used 123D Catch to acquire the scan and Netfabb to fix the holes and make the bottom flat.

It's a beautiful body with the head knocked off. I used my camera and uploaded the images into the PC version of 123D Catch when I got home. Pretty good results.

I kinda love decimation. There are a few normals to fix on this, but wanted to get it up before I had to leave the house.

7 years ago my dad pulled me aside and asked what I would like to have gifted to me in his will. I asked for this Buddha statue that's been in my family since I was born. My dad blinked and then just handed it to me and said, "Here you go, why wait?" It's a simple Buddha figure with simple lines. The scan didn't turn out that good, but it'll do for now. I'll scan it again when Autodesk comes out with a new version of 123D Catch.

I got the boombox bug from TeamTeamUSA and then I was inspired by Trobok's Boombox and the MakerBot Mixtape so I used 123D Catch to scan my 1983 Sony Ghettoblaster. The scan is a bit rough, but I'm still looking forward to Making it

Decimating the decimated. So meta.

I decimated it in Meshlab. Not a very fancy derivative, but very satisfying.

I made a hole in this for M5 threaded rod. You can use this for your clock as a pendulum weight. Fill with pennies and adjust as you like.

I looked into getting lead shot for the weight on a mechanical clock and it turned out to be cheaper to use pennies. This should hold about 2.5 pounds ($4) of pennies with some room to add more if you need to.

Note: To stay under the 150mm height limit of the Replicator you'll have to use the shorter stl file.

This horse and cowboy were designed in under 30 minutes. What can you design in less than an hour?

I picked a crater from this moonbump data via LOLA and ran it through Marius Watz's mb_04_gui_heightfield.pde via workshop.evolutionzone.com/

I originally set out to make a head, but instead made a pyramid coin holder thing. Made in about 5 minutes with Tinkercad.

I made this in 1 minute on Tinkercad. Fun!

We'll be scanning a tv personality next week and so we are renting a Polhemus high end laser scanner. We needed to test it out. Bre Pettis: Scanner Guinea Pig.
