HTC Evo 3D extended battery case w/ kickstand!

One of things Evo 3D users missed is the kickstand from Evo. I don't know why HTC left it out, I thought it was great.

My friend also got an Evo 3D recently. He convinced me to work on a kickstand version of my previous case. So here it is.

As always, this case only works with extended batteries with this specific battery door: amazon.com/Trexcell-3500mah-Extended-Battery-Cover/dp/B004XM9V1K

Please note: The kickstand pushes against the battery door, that's how I get it to stay put. This will probably rub off the satin-y grip coating in that area (if your version of the battery door is covered with it).

The kickstand kicks open at 45 degree intervals. 45 and 90 degrees are the only two useful angles.

Updates:
* The bottom bezel of the old case tends to crack depending on the type of material used in the print, I placed notches around the bottom, allowing the material freedom to bend a little
* I opened up the volume control area, making the buttons easier to press
* The back of the case is slightly thinner.
* I like to print it raftless on a fuse deposition printer like the Makerbot or the pp3dp and make the nozzle height slightly closer to the platform. If you do this with a smooth adhesive, like the Kapton's tape, you can get a smooth finish on the back of the case.

If you like this, please show some love by posting pictures of your print and/or comment.
Initially I printed the thing from PieterBos thingiverse.com/thing:5497. Although it was functional after printing it I felt that it took too much material and had an inorganic feel to it with the hard crisp edgess of the design.

I wanted a softer feeling object so I designed these gender coded male and female toothbrush holders in Sketchup. I'm pretty happy with the outcome and its features:

Rounded, soft edges
Small, effecient design with minimal use of material
Snappy tactile feedback when toothbrush gets locked into holder
Embossed with international male / female gender glyphs
Counter sunk mounting screw hole

Here's probably the only video in the world of a toothbrush holder demonstration. First!

I made huge improvements with my leveling procedure ( thingiverse.com/thing:23257 ). Still, over time, even when my Kapton tape looked good and the build plate was level, parts would not stick.

Putting on fresh Kapton tape was the only thing that fixed this particular problem but it is a pain to do, the tape is expensive and I am cheap and lazy.

As luck would have it, I just happened to have a can of this hairspray laying around from a potato cannon project and thought "What the heck?". It does say "Super strong hold" on the can so I gave it a try. Like that first meeting of chocolate and peanut butter I had my "Eureka" moment.

I have not tried with large prints yet, but I did do an entire week of building miscellaneous small to medium sized parts with only one build plate level and perfectly bonded parts. There was no edge lifting even on parts that had a first layer chamfer!

It has to be good it has the word Miracle in the title!

I hoped the high level of detail in the stonework would show, and, as you'll see, it prints quite nicely. It's shown here in MakerBot's Slate Gray ABS.
I want to see some cool dioramas cropping up here on Thingiverse!

I just learned how to use OpenSCAD to make this part customizeable! This is my first OpenSCAD/customizer part so let me know if I'm missing something or if the parameters arent creating the file properly. I'd love feedback!

By default the part is made to be used with my parkzone f4u corsair but it can be made to fit any plane wheels with the customizer!

Default Total Wheel width (including axle parts)- 1.15 in

Default Wheel Diameter (to fit within slot) - 1.90 in

Also make sure the wheel style is the same for it to fit through the slot properly (Wheel is attached to a L shaped rod) thought I think its probably the most common if not the only wheel type for RC planes in general (I only own one so idk lol). Look at pictures for reference.

The holder is open on the sides and front so the shells can be easily lifted out, but will (should!) not fall out on their own.

It's faster than typical bandoliers or reaching into a pocket of loose shells. Useful for shooting matches or competitions like 3-gun - which are timed.

This was inspired by some much nicer and higher-capacity off-the-shelf designs. Why spend $$$ on a commercial unit when you can spend hours to make your own much smaller, much crappier version? :D

I have lots in my microcubology shop on Shapeways site but most of them will not print well on current RepRap machines because of the need for tight tolerances and support material for overhanging blocks.
I discovered this brand new puzzle here puzzlewillbeplayed.com/553Ring/BisectCube/ at the excellent 'Puzzle Will Be Played' website and immediately realised that it was printable on my new eMaker Huxley machine. It took three goes to get the tolerances right but this version prints just right for me. I have based the puzzle on 10 mm cubes and used a 0.2 mm offset on every face.
