<br />
This little guy used to roam the seas of mars, when the planet was still young…and global warming had not set in yet. <br />
<br />
It's main food source was Crimson Krill…which are even smaller little creatures!<br />
<br />
It's spiny exterior shell protects it from the larger predators, such as the vortex fish and the spiny aggregate (which was a large ball of spines that roamed near the bottom, with a great huge jaw for swallowing up the smaller creatures)<br />
<br />
There are 6 flagella on its bottom which help in locomotion. If one is bitten off, another magically grows back.

So I designed an armature for him. <br />

But to make it really unique, I added the architectural styling found in Deus Ex Human Revolution. So when anyone sees this, they know it was custom and 3d-printed! <br />
<br />
The most interesting result into this experiment, was that the trussed part appeared to perform better in Solidworks stress simulations, as compared to a part made from bulk material.<br />
<br />
This explains why a lot of buildings these days are built with these organic-looking trusses, since you can actually tweak the macro-structure to support loads more effectively with less material.
