iPhone 4/4s Case basis for modification

This is a basic iPhone 4/4s case that can be used as a basis for custom cases. This is the case that I used to make my Gear Case with Geneva Mechanism, and Card Holder Case.

This case is easy to print, strong, and a great fit. The areas beneath the buttons and sliders has been removed to make them easier to use, and a cutout has been made around the headphone port so bigger jacks will fit without having to remove the case. The edges of the case are also tall enough to prevent the screen from touching when placed face down. I added a bevel to the ledges that hold the case onto the phone that makes the case very easy to print without support.

Improved! iPhone Gear Case with Geneva Mechanism

You can now buy this case from my Shapeways shop here: shapeways.com/model/997471/iphone-gear-case-for-shapeways.html?li=modelEdit

This is a version of the iPhone Gear Case that I completely designed and drew myself. It is much easier to print than the first case, as well as being stronger and a better fit.

Here's a video of the gears in action
youtube.com/watch?v=lWJ5edtyhjU
flickr.com/photos/quentint/8587604437/

I got the Geneva Mechanism idea from jessed, and used msruggles' solidworks gear generator to create the gear profiles.

iPhone 4 or 4s Card Holder Case

An easy to print iPhone case with a slot to securely hold a credit card, driver's license, or college ID.

This case protects your phone well because the edges of the case are tall enough to prevent the glass from touching when the phone is placed face down. It also has indents that make it very easy to use the buttons and sliders.

This is an iPhone 4/4s case with moving gears on the back. It clips onto my phone perfectly with no wiggle room, and is still pretty easy to take off.

I altered the original rivets to make them easier to print, and scaled the main case a little bit for a better fit. Other than that, only part orientations have been changed.
It also includes a forward facing headphone extender and USB hub so you no longer need to reach behind the computer to plug anything in. The whole piece clips into the vent on the back of the computer, and is quite sturdy. I also printed out RobertHunt's enhanced iPhone dock (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6931), and glued it to the top of the mount with a little bit of CA glue.

End Mount for tosjduenfs' Cable Chain

This is an end mount that I made for tosjduenfs' cable chain. It will screw into my bed mount plate with two #6 machine screws, and will guide my heat bed and thermistor wires, keeping them out of the way.

I have had an issue with my heater cables breaking where they attach to the heat bed because of the repeated flexing each time the y axis moves. This mounting plate will not let the cables flex until they reach the cable chain, which will in turn limit the diameter of any bends.

tosjduenfs' Cable Chain With Rounded Edges

This is the same part as tosjduenfs' cable chain, but with added fillets that make printing easier. The original thing had hard corners, so when I printed at high speed on my machine, the parts did not line up due to backlash. The new rounded edges should reduce the oversized corners because the printer can smoothly accelerate around corners.

The cable channel is 1/2" wide and 3/8" tall. Each link adds 1/2" to the chain. The folding diameter is about 1 7/8"

I don't have any pictures yet, but they are soon to come.
