My first variation of my original beer (errr, BEVERAGE) holder, with a relatively nice shape requiring no support to build (unlike my first design, which I designed LONG before I had a Thing-O-Matic). My first print of the original design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:15321) did not work out so well (so I cancelled the print 30 minutes into the estimated 7 hour & 50 minute print... full support just killed it).

My print of this version is already finished (364-layer print & took a little over 4 hours to built). The photos to the left are basically "fresh out of the printer", with very little clean-up.

Note: This version DOES NOT have the tapered "V" mounting block feature, like my first design. It's just a stand-alone can holder. But it works. And with it's MUCH shorter build time (versus my 1st design), I just wanted to print this version for real-world testing (and adjustments, if necessary). With it's 68mm inside design diameter, my beer (errr, BEVERAGE) slipped right into the holder, and it's a perfect fit... snug enough to hold the can with no slop or slippage (is "slippage" a word? Heh heh), but with no room for movement at all. Exactly as I'd planned it.
print it with exterior support

this is still a work in progress, it works but i can make it better

the large cone i printed failed half way through so i glued it to another cone i had to make a super mega phone cone.

the straight one with the small cone is pretty damn loud i drilled out the hole so its not the correct size for slip in fit.
this is a video of the sound difference

Strømg Lump Leaks is a ceiling lamp designed by Lamp Lumps (LL).

The used technique is self supporting interlocking of pieces (without gluing, screwing or nailing) of 547 different pieces of polypropylene routed with a three-axis CNC.

The conception and materialization is mixed by using digital and analogue means.

The first name Strømg is the junction of the English term strong with the Danish surname Strøm. Strong, because it is a robust three-dimensional puzzle witch form is the result of small variations in each of the pieces. Strøm, because this work is an homage to Holger Strøm and his IQ Lamp.

The Lump Leaks surnames suggest, for instance, the leaking drops of water or the leaking of information. The abstraction of the concept results, morphologically, in a piece that is the materialisation of the metaball modeling technique that was widely used by pioneers of digital media in architecture in the 90’s.

I've often thought about buying one - a real one - for home. I've looked at MAME cabinets and all sorts of options, but at the moment I've only got a little place with little space, so what I needed was a little arcade machine. I drew this up over the last couple of evenings in CorelDRAW. It stands about 130cm / 5" tall.

I've got a heavy-duty extension cord I'm going to route through the attic, but where it dangles down from the ceiling I'd like it to look as neat as possible. To keep things organized I blended up this cable clip.

I thickened the connection in the 90 degree bend for strength. The mounting holes are designed for standard drywall screws and are counter-sunk.
I was in desperate need of a small chuck/hand drill to hold onto some 0.6/0.8/1.0mm drill bits to clean out some holes but couldn't find a place the sold them for a decent price. Holding and placing such small drill bits was a pain, so I quickly modeled and printed this as an emergency/temporary measure.

Works well enough but lots of areas that can be improved. Might make this parametric later...

I was in the market for something like this myself, and was looking around searching for toolholders. The problem however is that there ar alot more different sized tools than there are toolholders that match, so then you end up with something that just looks awful and doesnt fit 100% to anything.

So regarding this project the goal was to make many different shaped toolholders that could easily be customized to fit any tool.

And again a big thanks to the makerbot crew for the plastic that made this:)
(Just an FYI - Everyone of my toolholders are printed on my full size makerbottable makerbot thingiverse.com/thing:3285)
