The leaf lamp is intended to be placed by the door to provide a dim illumination when returning home. The bowl shape serves as a catchall for keys, change and cell phones.

I'm using an arduino uno to pulse the LED's, sometimes in combination with a proximity sensor to adjust the maximum brightness.

There are already a variety of cord wraps on thingiverse, but I wanted one that would be guaranteed to work with almost any pair of headphones, be small enough to not be an inconvenience, and be large enough to ensure all the cord can be wrapped.

I cleaned up mrbug's stl a bit and cut a digital hole in the bottom.

A magnet of Blinky, the red ghost from pac-man.

It uses an 18mm diameter (3mm deep) magnet.

A magnet shaped like a Bob-omb.

Because the Bob-omb has features on both sides of the body, that I had to express on only one, it is heavily designed for perspective, and will therefore look very strange if viewed from sharp angles.

I used 4volt's dxf to create a space invaders fridge magnet.

As a project for our electrical engineering (for mechanical engineers) class, and since Ottawa mornings can be extremely dark, me and my group decided to build a lamp that could simulate the sunrise during the morning to help with waking up. My modular gear reducers, which i posted about a month ago, were designed for, and played a huge role in, this project.

Once built, the lamp plugs into a wall timer, and as long as the control switch is open (optional part) the lamp begins turning on as soon as electricity is applied from the wall timer.

These kinds of lamps exist for purchase, but usually go for around $200. We spent around $70 total, but you could definitely build it for much less.

I got a set of 18mm circular magnets from the art store today (3mm deep) so I could make a set of magnets for our fridge. As an easy first magnet, I modified my design for the Majora's Mask Necklace by removing the necklace loop and cutting a hole in the back for the magnet.

This ball is intended to give your cat exercise as they eat their food.

I saw a ball like this at the pet store and, as I have extremely strong makerbot goggles, decided to design and print one.

It's taken her a while, but my cat is starting to learn to use it.

A friend wanted a trombone keychain (I tend to offer up keychains a lot to show off the abilities of 3D printing) so I made her one!

For a group project at school, we used the infinity symbol as a logo for our "company". I made keychains to hand out as part of our presentation.

3:1 gear stages that can be assembled to get a gear ratio to any power of 3.

I needed to reduce the speed of a motor by a large degree. My first tries used a a worm gear, but I didn't have my support settings dialed in well enough to print one yet. I went with this design so it would be easy to add or remove stages depending on the desired gear ratio.

For my current project, I am using 6 stages of gear reduction. 3^6=729 so I have a 729:1 reduction in speed. Included with this is a 1:729 increase in torque.

I used to just have one belt, but then I saw 2 more I liked and needed something to hang them with.

I had done a search on thingiverse for a belt hanger, but forgot how similar a belt hanger is to a tie hanger... While the thing was printing i realized that there may have already been a tie hanger, and turns out there is. This looks very similar to thingiverse.com/thing:922, but was independently designed.

The top gap is wider, for a spiked belt as shown in the picture.

This thing has an interior that mimics a USB port to hold any extra cables while you're not using them.

Due to the placement of my laptop on my desk (far left, thing-o-matic on the right, and writing space in between) I can only use one side of its USB ports without interfering with my writing space. Any extra cables used to fall to the floor when not in use, and I would have to spend horrible fractions of a calorie, and precious seconds to pick it up and switch it in. Now this is no longer an issue as I have the cables right beside each other!

A necklace, shaped like the infamous mask.

I looked all through the Google Sketchup Warehouse to try to find a good file I could modify, but most of them were folded 2d files, and while trying to modify the one's that weren't, I realized I'm not good enough at anything but Solidworks to be able to modify them for my purposes, so I drew one up myself.
I stole the ring size from thingiverse.com/thing:1764 because the ring I had already fit through that to attach it to a chain. I wish I could say I was also inspired by it, but unfortunately the person who commissioned me to design it had no knowledge of that thing (though I printed her one in the meantime).

I lost the outer nut for the output jack on my Ibanez RG quite some time ago. I had heard that it takes a while to get spare parts from Ibanez (nothing against Ibanez, I love my guitar) so I had never bothered getting a new one, and had just taken the inner nut and placed it on the outside as a quick fix.
I just finished building my ToM 4 days ago so now I had the opportunity to replace the part I had lost. But of course, now that I have full power over the customization, I'm not going to settle for a standard output jack nut. It will be more rocking than any output jack nut ever!
So I did a few tests with just cylinders to try to find the right hole size and eventually did, then used this picture crazy-tattoo-designs.com/bat_wing_tattoos.jpg to draw the rest. The normal nut sits inside a groove, so thats why the wings had to be offset.

This is a glass I designed. Use it to drink anything you want out of.

Instead of a base, this martini glass has another martini glass!
There's no real up or down as it is completely symmetrical.

I don't have a printer yet so I can't print it, let me know if you decide to, and if it works.

This is my first submission to thingiverse.
I don't yet have a 3d printer, but I'm getting a thing-o-matic soon. So I've started designing things for it that I want/need.
I designed it to fit within the maximum print space of the thing-o-matic, and made it relatively simple, with no overhangs so it could be relatively easily made within my first few prints.
I'd love to see it printed, so let me know if you end up making it.
Also, and suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated.

PS. I noticed the automatic view generated from the stl is from a weird angle. I designed it in solidworks, so I've uploaded a screencap from there, but is there any way to modify that?

The screws on my ABP were interfering with the build, so I split it into two parts to be glued together.
