As famine struck the dark forests of Jotunheim, Wolf-Eater scaled the impossible cliffs of Ymir's Brow, descending into the lowlands of Midgard and sating his hunger on the tribes of men.

I wanted to make a proper Norse dragon. I really liked the idea of an antlered forest wyrm with vestigial wings adapted to climbing giant trees. Currently using this guy as the center of an RPG storyline. He's scaled to 15mm (making him rather massive) so he can be used with my Pocket-Tactics models, but he'd make a good dragon for heroic scale (25-30mm gaming) as well.

54mm-scale model of an NPC from my gaming group's current RPG storyline.

Built and gifted to Captain Baker by the Servitors of Nexus City, TH1-NK3R served as the tactician for Baker's Dozen for many years. After the remaining Dozen disbanded and went their separate ways, TH1-NK3R returned to Nexus City and, after a time serving the collective, was gifted to the refugee colony, Reverie.

TH1-NK3R is modeled in 54mm scale. He's an RPG character created by Dan Pettit and modeled by myself.

Formerly a member of the trans-universal mercenary company, Baker's Dozen, Emer soon after became the star of the hit Teledrome-produced reality series, "Pig Tracker." Emer's whereabouts have been unknown since the Teledrome's destruction at the hands of the Lost Agency, though some believe him to be the true identity of the "Desert Phantom," a mysterious gas-masked survivor who haunts the poisoned wastes of Eden 2.

Emer is 54mm scale and is on a 40mm base. He's an RPG character played and created by Thingiverse user Jeremy8077 thingiverse.com/Jeremy8077/designs and was modeled and printed by myself.

Here is a little bird I designed as a gift for my friend. It is round and cute and balances smartly on its twiggy feet.

It's spring!
My 3rd model. :)

An experiment to make a plastic "coil" spring printed in a single piece. The design has concentric cylinders that restrict the movement to mainly vertical and an outer springy part that provides resilience.

The more vertical bars, the stiffer the spring. The more horizontal rings, the greater the extent of movement. It's resistant to twisting, but would do very badly in tension I think.

Also note that the spring part need not be on the outside of the concentric cylinders: it could be embedded between them, so protected from damage.

I created the Vampire Lord for the Skyrim DLC: Dawnguard. I decided to take the zbrush model I made for it and turn it into this bust for my own personal use. I was however given permision to share it with you guys for anyone that may be a Skyrim fan or just wants a cool looking creature in general. Vampire Lord is property of Bethesda Games Studios. Feel free to print and enjoy this model but please do not alter it or try to sell it in any way, it is illegal and they will find out, trust me.

A printable model of GlaDOS that functions as a ceiling lamp. It also has servo mounts and can function as a 4 DOF robotic arm.

Two thumbs and robot hands up for the OUYA open gaming platform! For our partnership with OUYA, the MakerBot Design Team crafted a special seat for the hot new console with robot arms and oversized feet that move. Hoist the console on top to serve as the head, and the cables should sit neatly in the internal cavity.

This is a two color octopus model for dual extrusion 3d-printing. It was generated through a simulation of reaction diffusion on a mesh.

There are two versions included: one with a large circular base and one without. We found we had to print with the base in order for the print not to pull up off of the bed. We could not generate a raft for the two color print. If you can, print with no base for a cleaner result

We wanted to play around with using dual extrusion on our Replicator 1 printer to create textured 3D models. We're making an app that takes any 3D model and simulates reaction-diffusion on its surface to yield a 2-color 3D printable model composed of two STL's.

update 4/1/2013 The "no base" zip file has been updated. Thanks to @gpvillamil for pointing out that one of the included STL files was from a different version of the octopus. Now both of the files included match.

This is a sitting version of Gree. As with the other versions of Blu and Gree he can be printed without support (but only just).

The big version is: 7.4x9.8x13.3 cm or 2.9x3.9x5.2inch
The regular size version is half that: 3.7x4.9x6.7cm or 1.5x1.9x2.6inch

Make sure you print the right one! (And share a picture)

I also added the original Blender 3D file. That should make it easier to make derivatives.

I made Dorus a while back, based on my little Blu character (same feet!).

BTW: Dorus features on the official [Blender for 3D Printing](http://www.blender3d.org/e-shop/product_info_n.php?products_id=160) dvd I released with the Blender foundation.

But the initial model was unstable, and couldn't be printed on an extrusion printer.

So now... say hello to Supportless Dorus. I modified him specifically so he can be printed in one go on my Replicator 1. I'm pretty sure he can be printed on any machine.

I really enjoyed Eric Young's design of his Secret Heart Box, but I didn't relish hunting down all the required parts to put it together. One thing I learned from designing the Blossoming Lamp is that it's entirely possible to 3D print complex, preassembled mechanisms without breaking the 45-degree rule. Two different styles of clips to hold down a build platform. Designed to be small, and fit in low clearance areas.

The example files are for a 7mm build platform.

Adapted from the Portal bookstand (by konrad44, thingiverse.com/thing:25396) now a snap on kit, with separate pieces so you can mix and match you favorite colors.

Update: Now with scale-corrected STLs and SKP files.

The trouble with 3D printing a ball bearing is that spheres don't adhere to the 45 degree rule, so they tend to print poorly, or if metal balls are used instead, then the bearing requires assembly. This is a new kind of bearing that can only be manufactured by 3D printing and comes preassembled.

It is a planetary gearset and functions like a cross between a needle bearing and a thrust bearing. No cage is required to keep the rollers in place, because their gearing keeps them perfectly spaced. The gears are all herringbone, which is why it cannot be disassembled and also why it can act as a thrust bearing. This design is fully parametric and made to be adjusted in the Customizer app to whatever you need. Thanks to aubenc for finding a problem in the first version.
