Summary

This is the bottom pivot for a quite heavy shower glass door. As you can see on the second picture the original plastic part broke.

It took me a couple of hours to make an OpenSCAD model for a replacement part and about 40min for the replicator 2 to print it. I have used 30% infill to make the part strong.

It fits perfectly and the door works very well. We will see how long the PLA part can last. If it breaks there are several ways to make the design stronger.

Instructions

Made on a replicator 2 with 0.22mm layers, 3 shells and 30% infill.

My pivot broke yesterday , and you are saving my life !!!!!!

I guess you should avoid taking too hot showers, though PLA should be OK up to 60 degC, which is BTW the limit where the skin starts to burn... So I guess it should be OK ;-)
