Tundra Tire For RC Airplane
Description
This is a big fat "tundra tire" for my RC airplane (wheel_2.stl). Hopefully this will allow it to take off and land on grass.
If you want a flat sided version, use file: wheel.stl

Instructions
This center hole is 2.33 mm = 3/32 inch. I sized it for my "SuperCub". To get a perfectly aligned hole, I drilled out the printed hole on a drill press.
I painted it with acetone to bind the fibers better for my hard landings.
ANSYS users. the scripts create the geometry for these wheels. Please thing:10438 for instructions on converting it to a .stl file.

neat! We need more rc things in here.
One question though: why did you print out the whole tire, and not only a rim with the tire made out of (camping mat) foam?
And what size is your cub? It looks pretty miniature, like a kyosho minimum size.
Why the whole tire and not just the rim: basically laziness. wanted to print it all at once. figured I would have trouble getting a perfectly round tire if I used foam.
A buddy of mine cut some wheels out old flip flops.
cub size: 47" wingspan.
glad u like it :)
