modular birdhouse apartment flat
by jasper2991, published
This design was created to compeet in the #Birdhouse Challenge, and is fully printable and funcional.
i have rotated some parts to the correct orientation.
if you downloaded it earlier please update the files.
This birdhouse can be expanded to a massive bird tower.
Bolt the base to the wall and build it up to the clouds,
or hang it form the top of your balcony and lower the apartments to window level of the floors below.
Connect them together directly, or suspend the apartments by rope.
when using ropes you can hang them anywhere you like. Also you can make an upside down hanging pyramid or checkerboard pattern on your wall.
Possibility's are endless.
Just keep printing and hanging.

The part were designed to be printed with minimal support. so when slicing the parts make sure the are oriented correctly.
(some parts might have to be rotated. unfortunately i do not know how to do this in this point in time)
At the bottom of the left wall of the birdhouse bottoms (hanging and screw-mounted) there is a hole to get rid of any water that rains in in bad weather. Make sure this is not obstructed in any way.
Stacking the parts is pretty straight forward. if you stack a bottom part with the hole part a few holes will align, these allow you to bolt the parts together wit M3 bolts and nuts. (as i live in Holland i use metric units) when using the apartment setup make sure you print the apartment roof spacer (birdhouse_apartment_roofing.stl) this ensures a tight fit of the apartment above.
When printing this please use pla to ensure a healthy environment for the young birds. Also if the bird house might be forgotten, it will not harm or pollute the environment.
I designed the bird house to house a common bird in Holland ; the great titmouse. To house other birds the design can be altered pretty easy.
(I used autodesk inventor 2013, original student version. ipt's can be uploaded if there is a demand for them.)
II did not use any models from thingiverse.com as inspiration, if this design resembles any previous designs i am sorry i did not mean so.
