Just wanted to add that this is one of the best and easiest upgrades I've made to my TOM (ABP =
&
gt; Al HBP is the best). Now the machine is a lot quieter too, and I haven't noticed any skipped steps since I made the upgrade.

Thank you. I was having resonance problems and this made my Y axis so much smoother.
I am a little concerned about delamination, but have not noticed any problems yet.

I love the idea of having bearings to ease the friction here but I am a little confused about how this works. The original design had the gear rotating around a fixed shaft (the screw.) But in your design, the bearings are added between the shaft (screw) and the body. So does the gear now not rotate around the screw, but the screw rotates inside the bearings? If so, how do you fix the gear to the screw?
Or are there just two mechanisms for rotational motion now? Which one actually moves in practice?
the one with less resistance. which is of corse the the screw within the ball bearing. but you're right the pulley could also move withiin the screw.
