Description

- Redesigned for 10 mm round wooden arms as this size was very easily available.
- Battery is held in place with wide zip-ties.
- Arms extend to center of the design.
- Uses Hobby King motors.

Here is my whole Hobby King order-list - just in case someone likes to have similar setup. With these components it seems to fly fairly well. Propellers should be 2 x push and 2 x pull but when I ordered these HK didn't have push propellers in stock.

You need also KKmulticopter controller-board or something similar to keep the thing balanced.

I think hobbyKing sell their verson of the KKmulticopter flightcontroller (or at least a clone.... )

it's only 25 ish USD and should work as god as the KKmulticopter one (for those on a tight budget).

personally I buy my kkmulticopter controllers directly from their website, or from one of their official resellers.

A quick question about the fram, do the wooden arms wobble around? I've only built in aluminium, but I'm looking around for alternatives (I recon wood is ligher than aluminium :-P)

Great work, the centerpice looks awsome :D

Thanks :) I didn't know that HK sells also KKMulticopter boards (or clones) - I also ordered mine directly from KKMulticopter website.

About the wobble - yes they seem to wobble a bit. But after one hard crash one of my motor shafts bent a bit. This produces quite a bit wobble - I have to replace that motor ASAP to get this thing flying again.

As Mjolnir said, those carbon fiber arrow shafts (http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
31) could be very light. But I think I'll first learn to fly better - wood is so cheap and easily replacable that I use it during my learning period :)

I saw one where the guy had built the arms out of carbon-fiber arrow shafts, bought from the sporting goods section at the local Wal-Mart.
