Description

This is the building I live in in Boston (also the building we started my current company wayfair.com in). Pretty fun to have a mini replica of where you live. The overhanging deck in the back came out suprisingly good!

Instructions

I printed this on a Makerbot with an automated build platform. I found that I needed to print it with a raft given the height. Also the standard raft configuration has a gap between the raft lines which I found allowed the building to flex too much in the X direction as it got tall. To remedy this I changed the Base infill density to .65 in skeinforge. This makes the raft lines closer together so that they actually touch and form a raft that is more solid in both the X and Y directions. I left the raft attached.

Can you thicken the fence part in the front yard so it isn't ignored by SF. Right now it just prints the base, and then a few layers later prints a top "in the air" that kind of messes up the print.

Just loaded up a new version (v2) that I removed some of th efront fence detail on and thickened it slightly. It printed nicely for me. Let me know if you have issues.

OK, that's really cool. I've been thinking of doing my own house, but, I built it with HUGE overhangs. Of course. Maybe a two-piece print, set the roof on afterwards...that might work...
