Serene Firebug (Hi Poly) Firefly Serenity
Derived from
Description
The original uploads had some messed up normals. This should be fixed in the "v5" upload, though I still need to split the file again. *Update 10/10/11* Whole ship and 1plate have been updated to the "V5" model, which slices better. Still need to make the halves which should only take me a non-lazy minute or two, but the original uploads should be considered deprecated, use the V5 versions for better results.

I made another one and printed it in ice blue PLA on my Mendel90.

I'll download your stuff simply to read the hilarious write-ups. Nice work!
What a cool thing to find. Scaling 1plate V5 up to full build size on the Replicator. This is going to take FOREVER in skeinforge.
Ran overnight, failed. I can't make sense of the error message, and no Gcode was written out.

Where did the original model come from? It looks like there are a huge number of unnecessary internal details (tables, chairs, pistons, rooms, etc) which could be easily removed if the original file were to be had. Thanks.
SERENITY-5 works nicely. I chopped it in two and did a Netfabb cloud fix to stop Netfabb complaining about holes. the previous versions crashed my machine.
Could you upload a version that has the pin/connectors? It would be awesome to be able to print this in parts and just snap it together!
I've been wanting to figure out how to mashup parts to snap together for a while (I still have a dozen or so failed attempts at making ED-209 into an articulated action figure around here somewhere) but my OpenSCAD is weak and manually done parts never line up for me properly.
If you see a good OpenSCAD tutorial point me in that direction!
Much better looking than the old one. Can you cut it in half through the engines and stand it up so it can print in one go?

What did you model this in? I am looking to modify the design to allow for a hollow interior, and windows with LEDs...
