Description

This is a 100x150x68cm box made with openSCAD.

EDIT 09/30/2011 : I've added the .scad files in the .rar. The names are in French so I hope it's clear enough. I've made the shoulder and the arm after i've fixed my box size, therefore if you wish edit parameters everything might not realign correctly.

EDIT 10/09/2011 : I've cut the bottom part and the shoulder in half to be printed on a Makerbot.

Instructions

You will need two hinge, a standard servo modified for continious rotation , a DPDT, a switch and some screws/nuts.

I struggled with warping issues when printing the whole bottom part with ABS. I finally decided to print the Makerbot sized parts with success.

actually the shoulder 1 is still too long... maybe you could break up the shoulder in half horizonntally instead of verically? please? (i really dont know the first thing about openscad but i'd really like to have one of these machines...)

sorry it posts my posts multiple times...

thanks that's great, will begin printing it asap...

could you please make it fit on a makerbot 100x100 platform, maybe cutting the base in two?

I cut the shoulder in 3, its is cleaner than what I have made earlier and it should fit in.

Voila, but i don't have a Makerbot so i can't check if it fits (especially the shoulder). You will need M4 bolts to join the bottom parts.

Dang it, beat me to it. I so wanted to be the one to make this printable.

Well, I suppose I can still do the wind-up version.

This is amazing, scad files please

Would you mind dropping us the SCAD file...

Metaphor of the times

I've been wanting one of these. Just need to make the hinges printable.

There are lots of printable hinges. Why this one wasn't built with them I don't know. Yeah, needs to have printable hinges.
