Easy print fan mount (Ultimaker)
Description
I suggest you print my latest version here: thingiverse.com/thing:17602
I needed a fan shroud that would fit on the right side of the extruder head.
My goals were:
1. No support needed for print (even when not using a fan).
2. Minimal restrictions to airflow.
3. Airflow to also be directed beneath the fan housing to help cool larger prints.
4. Try to balance the airflow to minimise fan stalling.
5. Push fit onto print head (I hate messing with the long threaded rods).
6. No glue needed in assembly.
7. Sufficient gap between the shroud and the aluminium block to prevent melting.
I managed to print it with no fan, it hasn't melted and it seems to cool the overhangs well on more extreme prints - so that's definitely a partial success :)
Note: Hurricane damage may result downwind to small items left on the printer bed.

Instructions
Print the two items, clean as necessary
* Don't enlarge the holes in the shroud mounting tubes too far, they need to be a 'grippy' push fit on the extruder*
Slide the fan shroud cap through the groove below the long mounting tubes at the front of the shroud. It should slide neatly into the cut out provided.
Bolt on your original fan which will also hold the back of cap in place at the same time.
Push the mounting tubes onto the right hand threaded rods of the extruder head, you didn't drill them out too far did you ;)
If you have made the mounting holes too slack, pack them with a filament wisp or two.
Happy printing

This is almost perfectly what I need, but I have a 40mm fan, not a 45mm fan (i.e. 30mm mounting holes).
