Description

MUST resist the temptation to talk like Yoda.

He is about 1.5X bigger and less of the robe, more of the detailed face.

Instructions

He is about 70mm high but wider so should fit on most Prusa's and Huxley's :)

He is printed in Greenery Green PLA from Faberdashery.
60mm/sec speed 0.5mm nozzle 0.3mm layer.

*** Edit *** Jan 2012 - I had the wrong model uploaded ! - if you want the version with less robe and more face, then download the new STL called 70mm_Faberdashery_Yoda-Lite_less_robe.stl - That's the correct one I originally used and it's 70.89mm high.

The other model is just the same as Yoda lite but bigger (95.64mm) - Sorry about that.

Thanks to richgain for spotting this mistake.

I'd like to print this at 2X. Anyone have any luck slicing this thing in Slic3r at that size?

awesome model BUT how the heck does anyone print a vertex in space like the bottom of his chin?!?! Printer just tries to deposit plastic in thin air....

Ditto with Slic3r. I guess this can only be printed with support.

The 70mm_Faberdashery_Yoda-Lite_less_robe.stl file has a flat top to the head, I assume this is an error, as the other model does not?

Yes he does have a small flat on the top of his head, I found he printed better without the domed top and at the time it also maxed out the Z height of my Prusa Printer!

Great model, but ... he's not 70 mm high. He's nearly 96 mm high!

I didn't check and I couldn't finish the print on my Huxley :(

Oops ! - You are correct, it's the wrong model, that was the scales up one before I sliced off the bottom, sorry - I will upload the Real sliced model.

Looks like out of 170 downloads you were the only one to spot this! =-O

The real one is 70.89mm high so should fit on a Huxley.

Cheers,

Rich.

This is awesome! I'm printing as we speak, but how does one keep the printer from thinking every other layer is a bridge?

I added a shell and set 0 infill, but most layers sfact seems to think are bridges.
