Hey could you post the source files up so that we can mod this? Please!
Is there an SCAD source file for this or something? The holes don't come close to being the right size for the 624 bearings I bought for this so I'd like to tweak the sizes.
'Course, my M4 tap is loose as anything inside my 624 as well, but I'll deal with that (duct tape!)
No sorry i have not SCAD files for this...
and.. the tap don't need to be a very tight fit... i have probably a different tap design than yours... also SOME people use M3, M5 (and bigger) taps to hob their bolts too.... but i think M4 is best... :-)
and... it is 1x 624 bearing and 2x 608 bearings you need for this as described... i ha
d to heat the plastic a little to squeeze in the 624 bearing too.. it goes in on top of the model as shown in the pictures.
The 624 bearing is to support the tap and the 608 bearings is to hold the M8 bolt.
If you absolutely need to edit this you can easily do it in for example Blender :-)
I may manage making my own hobbed bolt with that thing. Can
´t wait printing and putting it all together!
Looks great, I had poor luck with previous methods. Just ordered some 624 bearings so I can try this thing this weekend.

This thing is great! I'd previously hobbed a bolt by putting two 608 bearings in a bench vice and then tried to hold the tap against the bolt with a hand drill. It barely worked, enough to grip PLA but not ABS. I took the same bolt and went over it again using this thing and it came out perfect and the bolt grips anything I throw at it. Thanks!
