It's not just a Dream Bookshelf
Description
Oh well, I traced the source image loosely, so now we can all make our own bookshelf today, and don't have to wait until mid next year.
Instructions
You can also print out the entire design on a huge piece of paper (or several small ones stitched together), glue it to a solid block of wood and carve it out. The possibilities are endless!
A .stl file (~10cm wide) is supplied so you can print a bookshelf for your daughters dollhouse, or if you have huge printer, scale it up and print one full size! (If the dollhouse is yours, you are of course free to print a small one if you like).
I have of course also supplied the inkscape and (I must say the superbly advanced) openscad files so you can tweak and export to your hearts content.

Thingiverse should really lock down the way you can change your guest name to anything. The "i won't release anything" comment wasn't actually by the creator (driptaroy), but by a guest user (Dripta Roy), and that obviously had an impact on how people judged the thing.
See how i suggest that i'm Dripta Roy?
Good Job! The makers speak! I hope this sends a message to the ones trying to sell stuff without open sourcing things. I get that there's money to be made with designs and stuff, but without open sourcing it they shouldn't post it here on thingiverse.com .
So beware proprietary folks, we got a huge team of reverse-engineering engineers in the house! :-P
I'm think that this might work by milling (or routing) some stiff foam sheets instead of wood, then fiberglassing it.
Or another idea (which might take a long time) is slicing it into pieces that
would fit on a 3D printer with a decent height (like Ultimaker or Prusa Mendel...or even the Ultimaker+ with 55cm Z ) and then gluing together...Any other ideas?
An other option would be to use the foam as molds and poor light concrete into it ... Seriously, it's sad that Roy decided to pull out its project instead of publishing the sources. Anyways ...
Thanks, I just found the entire concept silly and childish, and though myself to be well in reach of being both silly and childish right back. :-P
But seriously, I truly and deeply believe the world would be a better place if we share things openly.
Fiberglassing would actually be a cool project, and we discussed the option to cut it up in 3d-printable puzzle sizes in #reprap. You might also be able to laminate a bunch of thin strips of woo
d and shape it into form, though it would take a huge jig to do it.
I would never hang this on my wall though, not because of its looks mind you, but I prefer doors on my shelves so I don't have to clean them all the time. :-D

I think I fired the first shot in this case, but I missed all the action afterwards. The thing has now been deleted. I am sorry that roy saw that as the only solution to the problem he created. As I Dutchman, I am ashamed that this guy boasts that he has had a Dutch education. He could have learned to admit your mistakes, apologise and offer a remedy.
get a life loser!
