Printing Testpart for RepRap Machines by Patrick

We as a community of "fabbers" need to have some sort of standard to gauge how our machines tolerances are evolving, Patric has made a good start.

This isthe normal/plain vanilla ABS, I have the 1st generation Dimension SST 1200, not the "es" or "plus" machine.

Looks ok.

Is this ABSplus? Can you use normal ABS in the SST 1200 as well?

This part was made on a Dimension SST 1200. I acquired it four years ago just after they became generally available. I made this part to prove just how good theRepRap and MakerBot really are (stack up against a machine that costs 100x)

compare this to the original - http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
as you will see the part made on the RepRap machine looks much like mine (I copied Patric's work)

We as a community need to come up with an acceptable standard/gauge like this to judge the machines by and I think this is a great starting point.
