Print Thing TagSummary
These are the defense pieces for the 2016 USFIRST.org robotics game, FIRST Stronghold.
Included are one of each of the 9 defenses:
- Group A: Portcullis (no lift gate included) and Cheval de Frise (no movable parts)
- Group B: Moat and Rampart
- Group C: Drawbridge and Sally Port (no movable parts)
- Group D: Rock Wall and Rough Terrain
- Low Bar (Has the curtain, but is of hard plastic)
They are intended to give you a feel for how the game pieces look in real life and for a small scale testing of sample robots.
They are modeled at 1/25.4 (1 inch => 1mm). This comes in handy because you can mock up a robot at the same scale and see that it can traverse the defenses.
At this scale the pieces are a bit small. Printing them at double scale works but it takes quite a bit longer and may or may not be helpful.
These models are built from the game manual and from the team version drawings. The measurements are very close, but don't expect them to be perfect when scaled up 25.4x.
I'd love to see someone modify the actionable parts (portcullis, cheval, drawbridge, and sally port) so that they can be printed and move.

No
Resolution:
.1mm recommended .2mm works
Infill:
~20%
Notes:
The drawbridge and portcullis will print fine if your printer can bridge fairly well. If it can't, then you can print with supports.
The cheval has 23 degree angles. Your printer may have a problem with that.
The rest can be printed as is.
