You can still find cheap Chinese wooden ones such as the one posted in the video.
I used to collect old wood-and-tin noisemakers of this type; the ones from the 1920's on were made of tin litho and wood. At some point after the war, the wood parts got replaced with plastic, and now if you look at the party favor counter at the dollar star, you will find them made entirely of plastic. I guess that this is the next step. What machine printed it?
