Description

*** Last Update October 30 2011 ***

I found that the large gear clip sockets were too deep- they came too close to the top of the part and I have quite a number of large gears with the corners snapped off.

SO I hacked them up in openscad, making the clips and sockets parametric.

I also added an option to round the corners so they can be given to small children.

I have rebuilt the center piece in openscad so now it can be made parametric, and have a proper clip socket profile.

I have arranged all the pieces into a plate. Approximate plate dimensions are 150x150mm.

TODO:
* redo the gears themselves in openscad using the excellent gears library in mcad, for a fully parametric cube gears!

WIP: not printed yet!

I printed this twice and the gears came out skewed. I'm almost positive it is some sort of problem with skeinforge. I've ordered a new mother board and extruder board which should arrive next week and I'll try to print these again.

I also rotated the centre piece before printing (using ReplicatorG to rotate). I found it printed much better with one of the hexagonal sides facing down.
