Description

This is another fantasy architecture model based on historic Coney Island buildings. The original Luna Park was created in 1903 by Frederic Thompson. Thompson was a rebel who was kicked out the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris. The original postmodern architect, He created Luna Park- a fantasy landscape in Coney Island, comprised of dozens of minarets and towers, combining architectural styles ranging from far eastern to renaissance. At night, the landscape was transformed into an electric fantasy lit by hundreds of thousands of lights.

Please note I don't yet have a 3D printer myself and have not yet tried printing this. If anyone prints it, please post some photos!

Update: 7/1/2012
I've added successfully printed files created by Jason Batukis and the MakerBot Botfarm for the 2012 Mermaid Parade trophies. Thanks!

Instructions

Print the parts and glue them together. I suggest white or clear plastic, but its your call.

Make two of these towers and set them on either side of a print of the Electric Tower model: thingiverse.com/thing:13046

These are most excellent! Now a want some turn-of-the-century version Warriors figurines ;-)

I just uploaded my Sketchup files as well now- you should be able to get a DXF from that.

Superb achievement.

but is it possible to have this file in dxf?

I also exported a DXF, but there's something very funky looking about the preview for that bottom half...
