Stove Knob by GeertB Dec 1, 2009

Description

This knob is modeled after those on my stove, but scaled down to 80% in order to fit better with the children's kitchen set for which this is intended. Will friction fit on 1/4" (6.35mm) shaft, in my case that of a potentiometer.
The knob has a nice feel to it and should be usable for many projects. The bottom has been left almost entirely hollow, instead relying on a few ribs for strength. It prints in about 35min on a Makerbot.

If you want to print one for your stove, just scale it to 125% and adjust the bore, if 5/16" (8mm) won't fit.

Hi wizard23,

Thanks for the kind words! What kind of knob did you print 10 of? This one or do you have another design? Did you print at this scale or at 125%? I have also printed a matching bracket to go with this, so you can mount a standard potentiometer with 1/4" (6.35mm) shaft on an approx. 3/8" (1 cm) thick board.

Stove Knobs are really the killer application of reprap...i would not have guessed. we printed almost ten already. mine were primitive cylinders with a hole though...these ones are very well designed.
