Printable Key Rings by catarina Dec 2, 2009

Description

Just some parametric and printable key rings modeled in openSCAD.org

The trinket is my way of wishing makerbot happy holidays and it was printed before our extruder ran into some trouble a few days ago. I've also modeled icons for other projects I got to know and love (miniature reprap mendel, thingiverse's gear logo, openMaterials logo), and I'm just waiting to be able to print them before uploading those files.

Thanks for making this! Had been searching for a key ring file for a while and finally dug through enough pages to find it!
Love all my printed rings.

Yeah, a wood, acrylic or even cardboard mini CupCake CNC would be very cool :) If your idea is to laser cut it, maybe you can start with makerbot's original DXF (http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... and then add/subtract details in a 2D CAD program (or illustrator)? That's what I intended to do until I realized I couldn't import that particular DXF into openscad.

That's an excellent likeness! Also, wow, you modeled this entirely in OpenSCAD. Maybe wanting to laser-cut this (urgently!) will be the motivation I need to finally learn a 2D CAD program (-:
