Summary

Assemble these triangular castle pieces into an indestructible fortress! Hexagonal walls keep out all but the most tenacious monsters. For those, you may need to print the additional Wizard's Spire Game Pieces

Instructions

Print:

  • 6 walls
  • 6 towers
  • 2 fortify

The models are designed to print at .2mm layer height with a .5mm nozzle, but should look even better with higher resolution.

The STLs are all manifold, so they should slice fine as is. However, for best results you will want to double-check the gcode afterwards. The fortify tokens look best if the top infill goes the full length of the piece. I had to rotate the model 45 deg in Slic3r to get the fill orientation correct. Make sure the thin vertical stripes on the fortifies are sliced as continuous lines rather than a zigzag (or missing completely). If you tweak the layer height, walls and tower perimeters should contract and expand smoothly at the gaps between layers of bricks, and the top surface should follow the cobblestone pattern.

I am attempting to import these into Autodesk Print Studio to print on a Dremel 3D40 but they are importing really big, even bigger thatn the build volume. Any advise on how these should be scaled? How long should a wall section be?

I'm guessing that it's importing them in inches. The models are in mm, so you should scale down by a factor of 1/25.4 = 3.937%.

The walls should be 64.1mm along the base which matches the game board (if you're using them for Castle Panic). At this scale all the features should be a multiple of 0.2mm high, so it will look good printed with either 0.1mm or 0.2mm layer heights.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out that I had to tell it the original units were mm. Then they printed out perfectly.

Thanks for these, good looking pieces. Will definitely enhance the game

Hey Spencer I absolutely love these pieces, but I don't have a 3d printer. Would you be willing to print these for a price???

Aw. DMCA'd. That sucks. Especially since you can't actually use these to play the game if you don't already own the game. I hope they return.

I'm in contact with the game owners. Hopefully we can work something out that will allow me to post the models again.

These are very well done, I'm done a third of the castle now. Can't wait for the wizard tower pieces.

I published pieces for wizard's tower finally! I'd love to hear what you think. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:165005https://www.thingiverse.com/th...

Thanks! I've tried a couple designs for the flames, but I'm still working on getting something that both looks good and is printable.
