Open Sourced Helicopter by Spacexula Dec 6, 2009

Description

Designed by Underthefloor of rcgroups.com He is excited as I am about the possibility of a Rapid Prototyped free Heli.

He was nice enough to give the following discription

The flat frame and landing gear parts are made from G10. The tail
boom is an Easton aluminum arrow shaft. The swash is from a Compy V2,
aero-fever.net The motor is a turnigy 2730 from hobbycity and the
servos are hxt 500/ tower pro sg5

Good luck!

Not a thing.

I just put the info out. It was not even my design :)

this is cool. what ever happened to it? I have been flying helis for several years.

i was wondering if this would be possible. I'd like to have a printable submicro like the blade bsr

Interesting design that's for sure!

Why not print the whole rotorhead? :-)

I printed some working blade grips back in 07

A helicopter created by Underthefloor at RCgroups.com. I have been trying to design a open source printable Heli for a few weeks now, with no luck. He was kind enough to allow the community to try to convert this design, that he has built before, into a printable design.

I will start working on it some time after the new year, till then, see if you can beat me to printing it!

Sweet! I have dreamt of making a printable heli as well, but am still learning the basics of 3d design and makerbot printology. Can't wait to see the progress made by the community. Keep it coming! :)
