I have taken Andy Lackows Eyebot and split it the easiest way to make it printable.

What I did

First I separated all the individual parts used to make the original model.

Second I removed the rings that floated around the pillars as they were not attached to anything and could not exist in the space as depicted.

Third I increased the diameter (thickness) of the outer most ring around the eye and the rings under the eye as well.

Fourth I duplicated the rings below the eye and rotated the duplicate 45 degrees before unioning them together to create a set of rings with twice as many spokes.

Fifth I increased the size of the eye by 5 percent.

Sixth I lowered the entire upper parts to make contact with the lower parts.

Seventh I unioned all the parts together except the wire that attaches the eye to the base.

Eighth I moved the wire to clear the new spokes.

Ninth I duplicated the wire and scaled it by 5 percent before differencing it from the now one piece model to allow it to be pushed in after printing.

Tenth I cut the model into two pieces (front and rear).

Eleventh I cut a flat side on the wire section to allow it to sit on the print bed properly.

Twelfth I scaled all the parts up by two and attempted to print it (it was to small for the rings to print).

Thirteenth I scaled again to the final size (sliced and started printing, but decided to abort at 1 percent because I did not want to use that much plastic).
