Lest you think this is impossible, remember how George Lucas treats the word droid as if it is his personal property.
This design is optimized for glow in the dark ABS but you could probably also laser cut it.
Note: printer is down for repairs so a picture of a printed version will have to wait until tomorrow.

I used the dxf to create a cut file for our 80W laser. I then cut mine out of .060" clear acrylic and hit it with a fine media in the blast cabinet to give it a frosted look. It looks great!
