Description

This is a full set of .STL files for the ArduCopter Quad frame and a mostly complete set of DXF files. There was a user on a DIY Drones Post offering up the open source files in any format. I simply asked for .STL. The DXF set was from a user that made a carbon fiber frame.

Instructions

I have printed the entire STL set in ABS plastic on a Makerbot. It feels a bit flimsy for flight ... however after screwing that main plates together against the arms it seems reasonable.

Here's a concept worth working into the blade design:

I get a lot of "hole in the mesh" errors in Skeinforge. Any ideas?

Some work arounds mentioned here http://groups.google.com/group... but again I would just try to print and see what happens.

Unfortunately I am new to 3d printing and modeling in general so I can not say what the cause may be. I recall seeing several errors in ReplicatorG saying "this should not happen" or something along those lines when I generated the G code. Ultimately I had no issues with the prints and they all came out fine.

Do yours print fine even with the errors ?

As much as I like ABS, I think PLA will work better in this case, unless you fly in direct sunlight on a hot day.

If you can get the files in digest format, I can add support ribs.

I added the .DXF files that were also acquired on Diydrones from one of the forum users. Was .DXF what you meant by digest format?
