This is a scanned left hand for the creation of a model for creating finger prosthetic attachments.
The Make Article is here http://makezine.com/2013/10/14/help-a-make-fan-by-giving-him-the-finger/

Please Create something for Michael and post it here with a note about it over on Make Magazines site.

My good friend Dave from Hammerspace in Kansas City created the mold for Michael. The Mold was then used to cast a Plaster model of Michaels hand. I used Strata Foto to produce the 3D Model of the casting.

How did you scan your hand? I am doing a school project where I have to make a prosthetic hand, and I am curious how you did it. Thanks! :)

I'm missing just over half of my right pinky and I've been looking for some kind of functional prosthetic. Think I found one at a website rcmenterprise.com. Problem is the prosthetic is $6000 but I might be able to get my workmans comp to pay for it. If so I want to make a 3d model and make my own once I get my 3d printer. If your missing a finger check out the site. Pretty cool prosthetic.

I'm missing exactly the same digit, same way. Interested in sharing notes on anything you came up with, I'm working on a prosthetic now.

Check out my newest post "Finger prosthetic" this will be of some help. It is a static prosthesis, I have used this prosthesis for nearly a year, typically under a glove to ensure that it stays on my finger.

check out my instructable "Thumb Prosthesis" @ http://instructables.cominstructables.com. You can create a finger model just as easily.

Great project! Thingiverse should hold an official challenge. A ring size for Micheal would be helpful.
