---Deleted due to new Thingiverse legal terms

This is a revised version of the LM8UU X Carriage on the latest Reprap Prusa V2.

This X Carriage use 1 M3x20mm and one nut to hold each of the LM8UU bearings in place of the tie wrap version included in the release

Picture shows the original on the left and the revised part on the right.

Enjoy
Dan

As you are using Creo (I'm on Pro/E 5) would you upload the .prt file? :) I would like to move the bearings in closer to fit my fan mount.

No problem.....I'm travelling at the moment and I'll do it for you when I get back home on the 27th :-D

Nice, i found all of the snap fit stuff on iteration 2 rather fragile. Blame my settings if you will, i had no issues replicating the previous version.

can you reduce the STL resolution? 40mb seems excessive and takes forever to render...

Do you have a native Solidworks file?

Sorry I don't have solidworks, I'm using Creo Parametric so I uploaded a step file you can import into solidworks.

Great job. Nice and sturdy. Thanks.

that green stuff is just insanely green

I don't want to be rude, and you are of course free to use whatever design you prefer, but how is this an improvement, as one zip tie is cheaper than one nut and bolt?

Is it because you take the bearings out a lot? Or perhaps just don't like zip ties? (I love them, if you can't tell ;) )

For me it's better because honestly I've tried every other LM8UU holder on this site and every one of them is fragile for me. This is the first one that I haven't broken half of them I try to use.

I would think it is because this would be far more secure, less wasteful, reusable and be more professional. And "cheaper" is a relative term, I know I have thousands of nuts and bolts I've removed from old electronics that would actually cost nothing at all, so unless someone was paying me to use Zip-ties this would be "cheaper".

If I used linear bearings I would definitely be using these.
