Summary

AN UPDATED VERSION IS NOW AVAILABLE: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2010525

The Rhea and Phoebe are SD card adapters that replace the ever failing disc drives in Sega Saturn consoles. These are great devices but they leave a very large space open inside the console meaning you can easily, accidentally drop your SD card inside the console and be forced to disassemble it to get the card back. This SD card Tray is designed to fit on top of the Rhea or Phoebe device and seal off the inside of the console making it impossible to drop your SD card inside through an open lid.

There are two STL files, one includes a set of 4 slots to allow you to store additional SD cards in the space available, the slots are staggered to allow easier gripping and they're placed such that when the lid is closed it will keep the from falling out even if the console is turned upside down. The file without these slots is simply for people who are not interested in this feature.

Fitment has been tested on VA0 and VA1 console revisions with a Rehea version 3.1. Other console and Rhea/Phoebe version should work as they are dimensionally similar, however if you use this file I would appreciate a comment confirming fitment on other revisions.

Supports:

Yes

Notes:

Supports are necessary as the entire section that fits over the Rhea/Phoebe device has about a 2mm overhang. This is a low stress part and the only critical dimensions are the rear mounting holes so the material, quality and other settings are not important.

I just got mine in today, and was able to install it with no problems. Very nice work, man.
It looks much better, and now I don't have to worry about my card falling into the system.

I had mine made by MakerBot.

I didn't need to add any spacers.

I think spacers is only needed if Sega Saturn V0 with PSU in the top cover.

I have a V0 and tested fitment on that with no problem but taper is different from Saturn to Saturn so depending on if the mounting holes print over sized with a low taper Saturn will effect height. It doesn't matter though because V2 fixes this completely for all Saturn versions. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2010525

Sega Saturn Rhea/Phoebe SD Card Tray V2

Glad to hear it!

Thanks :) Got it printed via https://www.3dhubs.com/ and it is almost perfect... it sank a little in my V0 with Rhea v3.3, but is fixed easily by adding spacers below Rhea and tray :) https://goo.gl/photos/TeNoVUZ7K72864NW9

Excellent pictures and thanks for the feedback. I'll look into designing some spacers to help out anyone else that might run into this problem.

I fixed it with Sugru mouldable glue. Pictures added to my link above.

nice work :) I've never used Sugru but I've heard nothing but good things about it.
