Description

I haven't installed electronics yet (missing the servo), so don't ask me for videos of the thing in action just yet...

Done. :-D

Whops!

Just discovered that I'd centered the holder for the Servo. That effectively blocked the very area the button is located. I'll upload new drawings in an hour or two...

Instructions

Cut everything marked with red out of 3mm wood, acrylic or what ever. All the blue items are vector etched, and black is raster engraved. Keep engraved markings pointing inwards and upright (FIXED in this version).

The hole in the lid, has to be held in place by a small hinge of some sort (the piece cut out where the servo sits, is glued in place right next to the switch to keep the lid from swinging into the box).

I think it's mandatory to mount something funny on the end of the rod switching the box off.

I've based the holes and measurements for the servos on Hitec's HS-311 servo, which is rated at 3.7Kgcm@6V. The microswitch is mounted where i assume the arm will end up once it returns to the off position (still to be tested).

Idea, electronics and video of a similar box in action was found here:
