Derived from
Generic Tool Holder
by Physics_Dude
Description
Using the excellent Tinkercad file by Physics Dude that this thing is derived from, it seemed like the perfect platform to attach a webcam to.
I simply erased the unnecessary tool holder parts and put a tripod mount hole in the middle.
I also made a larger platform that can move the camera further away from the print area if your webcam requires that or so you have a bigger surface to clamp just about anything onto.
I have a Microsoft LifeCam that has a tripod mount point and used the mounting screw from a gorillapod that I normally use to shoot timelapses or simply remotely monitor the printer with.
Feel free to adjust as necessary by making a copy in Tinkercad:
Small: tinkercad.com/p/acc06bf989380100/53
Big: tinkercad.com/p/acc0eb3a3fe504be/19

Excellent idea. 2-hour videos of MakerBots making things on YouTube are hilarious! I love them!
Alternately, you never know when you might download one of my designs (which usually fill up your entire X,Y, and Z build capacity) and you might want to hook that web-cam up to the Internet so you can watch your build process(es) from remote places like your Living Room, your neighbor's house, or
maybe even during a vacation to Brazil.
Sorry to those of you who don't get my sarcastic sense of humor. Or my MakerBot sense of humor. Please get a life, or build one on your MakerBot. It's possible, I swear! I'll post a file soon, I promise!
