Description
I like the Thing but wondered if you could print the whole Thing without requiring extra hardware (the bolt and nut).
And so here it is. Its made to fit my mandolin's heads, but should fit a guitar too.

Instructions
Just print. You may need to use a thin blade to free the 2 parts.
There are 3 versions, one with tight tolerance (0.5mm and 0.25). The other 2 have bit larger (1mm, called MachineHeadWinder_Blocky_MoreClearance.STL).
MachineHeadWinder_V3.STL has a larger 'socket'.
Haven't tried raftless but it should work.
For UP!ers : use the original tight model. Printed at 0.25mm, default support. loose fill(?)(1 down from solid)

ToM w/Mk7, printed with neither raft nor support (3 extra shells, 50% infill, otherwise default settings. Could probably lose a shell). The bridging was a little sloppy the first layer or two, but firmed up nicely afterwards (top). I just scraped out the odd bits from those layers (bottom). The lost plastic doesn't seem to have a meaningful impact on the winder's final strength.
I was able to get the shaft to turn with quite a bit of work with a razor, and finally some coaxing with pliers. It turns but is far from smooth. The main problem with the razor work was that it was hard to figure out where to stop. I was worried that I would cut into the axle.
Lastly, it worked
on my old guitar, but the pegs on the new one are a little too fat to fit :(
Thanks for the feedback!
I will make another model with more clearance around the join and slightly fatter socket. I did make it to fit my owns a bit snugly.
